Club Promotion Day - 4th April
Thanks to
those who supported the club both members and families. As
expected it was a good opportunity for those who had not sent in
your membership forms to save themselves the postage! The weather
was not great which probably kept a lot indoors but a number of
people came along to see what we do and the day has produced a few
new members who we welcome to our club.
Club Summer Series
The
Tuesday evening sessions started in mid April with practice for the
first few weeks before the Club Summer Series started at the
beginning of May by the time you read this newsletter two rounds
will already of been completed. Volunteers to move the caravan are
needed as are those to help make the drinks, sell the food and run
the races training in most things will be given!

to get on the gate for the next 6 rounds!

happen on Wednesdays!

latest Regional rankings.
The
Rockets have got off to a flying start this year we are laying in
second place after two rounds so lets make sure everyone goes to as
many regional races as possible to keep us up the top of the pile
its much nicer than being down the bottom! The first round at
Braintree was cold wet and muddy but still attracted 97 riders
whilst Peterborough was very warm and had 117 riders so lets aim for
125 at the Royston events. If you are not a Regional level rider
there are always Novice classes for you to learn in mark the two
Royston dates in your diary at least. Novice Riders do not need a
race licence registration closes at 1100am
National Race Series
The first
two rounds at Burnham over the May bank holiday had over 330 riders
registered for both days on Monday we ran 162 motos in just over
three hours if you want a spectator sport you just cannot beat BMX
racing.
The next
National race is at Peterborough on May 30th Registration and
practice for all classes is on Saturday afternoon with racing on
Sunday (Practice from 0830!), camping available. Again, if you do
not feel you are at National level yet, there are Novice classes for
up to 13s over 14 year old novices race with the experts.
Track Modifications
The
skateboard site has been cleared but since we have been awarded
another Regional Race see above it will not be possible to carry
out any changes this season so we are concentrating on getting the
Air Ram Gate system running ready for the Regionals!!
