British Cycling Race Licenses and
Membership
If you had a BC licence in 2003 it has now run out and needs to be
renewed! Race Licenses are issued under UCI regulations, which only
allow a licence to run from January 1st to December 31st. However,
BC Membership runs for 12 months from the date of your application,
which is very confusing but done for very good reasons. BC will send
reminders out about membership but to get full benefit with a
licence it is best to apply for your membership and licence in
January.
Club Members who do not ride any Regional or National events do not
need a licence and East Anglia allows new riders to ride 2-3
Regional Series races without a licence – but after that you must
have one. At National level you must have a licence for any event
unless you are riding a local event as a novice.

Club Web Site
If you have anything for the web site please send it direct via the
“contact us” function – pictures, race reports, comments about
racing – what ever you like - after all it’s your club’s site! You
might also wish to have a look at the
East Anglia Website, which has links to the other clubs in our
region.
Club Clothing – Big Discounts
In an attempt to encourage members and families to wear the club
clothing at race meetings, the members attending the AGM decided to
offer big discounts on any order - so why not kit out the whole
family!
Track Modifications
The AGM approved the proposed track changes and we are now trying to
organize the plant required for some quite major changes – although
the North Herts Council also have some plans for the site which
might adversely affect our plans! We will need plenty of helpers
when the work starts so you have been warned!!
