EA
CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BRAINTREE
We had a very good turn out of riders and those who did turn
up promoted Royston with their sweatshirts – thanks very much.
Sorry
there was no report in the paper but we did submit them but for
some reason they have not been put in.
James Handleigh was rider of the day.
BRITISH
CHAMPIONSHIPS – CHEDDAR
Again
we had a good turn out – 11 riders and Ethan Lewis battled his
way through to the 6 and under final and finished with a
creditable 8th sport.
In the eight-year-old class we had three riders Louis,
James and Zach. Louis
and James battled hard and missed the finals and Zach raced well
and made the final but whilst contesting a podium position
crashed out and had to settle for 8th place.
Sean in the 17/18 classes again battled hard but failed
to reach the main final in a very close class.
Ben Godfrey and Ashley Seaton raced in the largest class
of the day 19 and over. Ashley
failed to qualify and Ben slipped up in the semi final whilst in
a qualifying position to just miss out on a final spot.
Leroy in the 40 plus class missed the main final by only
a few points. In
the Super class we had three riders - |Laurence, Christopher and
Richard.
Richard
failed to reach the final in a very fast and furious class,
Chris and Laurence made the final.
Making a very rare thing of two brothers making the final
in the top class. Laurence came in 6th after a hard
crash and Christopher the younger brother coming in 4th.
The
club would like to congratulate all the riders for qualifying
and competing at this level and hope to hear their stories about
the weekend.
East
Anglia won the supporters cup for cheering on and making a very
colour show at Cheddar again we would like to thank all the
supporters getting behind our riders.
Club summer series has now finished but we still have to finish
this off with the presentation of the trophies and end of year
trophies. Can we
have some ideas as to what the riders would like to do for this
– either a meal with presentation, a race meeting and
presentation or something completely different please let
Maureen have ideas by the end of October so that we can arrange
something for November. Richard has suggested ten pin bowling?
